Towards the end of 2013, Goodman rooftop units became Daikin. The transition has been gradual, as existing Goodman units sell. Since there have been Goodman units still in stock, Younits.com is still in the process of converting our product descriptions to Daikin for these packaged rooftop units. As a result, we wanted to provide some clarification and tools in understanding the changeover.
The most important thing to know is that there is no difference between the the same Goodman and Daikin unit other than the label and the color. All features, specs and components are the same for a unit to unit comparison. See the Daikin Commercial Cross Reference Sheet for further Goodman model to Daikin model guidance.
Have you ever wondered what all those letters and numbers in the model number mean? Nomenclature is a very useful document that outlines this for you for any model or series. Here is an example Daikin Commercial Nomenclature. For help in understanding how to read nomenclature, please feel free to call one of our product specialists at 1-800-880-0199 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. M-F or e-mail us at email@example.com any time.
